Paternity Suit and still Preaching

It is time to sound the alarms once again. As many of you know, Darrell Gilyard is currently facing his first public Paternity suit, see https://showcase.duvalclerk.com/SearchForCases.aspx A brave woman has come forward to seek damages against him. There are many others and maybe they will gain courage to do the same. These are his children, they deserve to be provided for. It is time he has to answer for some of these lives he has left in ruins. These precious children deserve so much more than this.

In the meantime, he is resuming life as if nothing has happened. Continuing to preach and act as if he has done no wrong. Not once has he apologized to any of his victims. He has not acknowledged a need for help. He has not even taken time off to seek help. The sad thing is that he continues to find churches that welcome him into their pulpits.
The latest church is out of his hometown of Palatka, Fl. He is scheduled to preach their as early as this Sunday. Rumor has it that he may even be being looked at to eventually replace the current Pastor. Can you believe it? The current Pastor is Frederick Demps. The church is:

Calvary Missionary Baptist Church
Pastor Frederick Demps
322 N. 10th Street
386-328-4420

There is so much I would like to say here, but I truly feel my job is only to alert you and keep this in the spotlight. If it is left in the dark, as we know, evil is allowed to prosper there.
Lord, please help us keep evil out of our churches, protect the innocent. Holy Spirit, trouble the souls of those who are allowing this. Let them not be able to be settled in their Spirits. Lord, deliver this nation from this corruption that is taking over our churches and leaving in its wake tattered souls and lives. Church is your home Lord, we desire to protect your temple God. Let us glorify you in all of our ways and in our worship. We will not allow this evil to take over, we will fight the good fight. Give us wisdom, lead us and guide is in your precious and HOLY name, Jesus. Pray people, this is not over yet.

I said continue to love DG....but he will need to pay for his crimes as other criminals do. We have to forgive...but we do not have to tolerate this type of immoral behavior. As with other child molesters he should be penalized as other child molesters are. He definitely should not be allowed around children. Child molester do kill their prey at times when they fear getting caught. We should not take the chance of allowing him around our young daughters and granddaughters. I say love from a distance!

Anyone have any information on the American Express lawsuit which was filed recently ??????

Nothing other than they filed it against him for an undisclosed amount. Really there is nothing else to know about it.

I want all of you to know, that the person that has posted the several scriptures above, is not DG nor his look-out person. I am not a member of his church, I do not know him personally, and I only know what has been presented on the news. However, I stand on what the scriptures read. So, you have the right to have your opinion and I have the right to have mine. You can call me what you like, and say what you like, and my opinion WILL NOT change!!! So, you can continue to make your evil comments and at the end of the day the scriptures, whether you feel they are right or wrong for me to quote, will remain the same.
I feel that I have wasted enough time with you. So, any other comments that you want to make, make them. You have no influence on me. "It is what it is."

..... Thank you for sharing how you feel and who you are not. You are right... The scriptures are correct and we (ALL)are entitled to our opinions. The majority of us are NOT making evil comments! Interesting that you took it that way regarding a person who has harmed so many people.

The fact still remains that right is right and wrong is wrong. Yes, we can forgive and move on BUT trust me, as has been noted numerous times on this blog (scriptures and opinions). Justice will be served (by God and our legal system... hopefully). God is not mocked (especially by those claiming to be a Pastor ...and sin WILL catch up with you when you continue to ignore what is right according to God. Know this as well ... You have already been influenced... I don't think anyone that's posting on this board is trying to influence you (Are you serious????) HOW SILLY AND RIDICULOUS to think that.

Most of the posters are folks that care about living right for God and protecting children and not making a lifestyle of professing Christ and living a lie.

Oh well... Where are you Pastor Rod! I look forward to your post rather than the dribble of... Let's forgive while someone is messing over our children mess.

Another Response to Anon 12-11, 7:59 P.M. - You said, "I want all of you to know...at the end of the day the scriptures, whether you feel they are right or wrong for me to quote, [my opinions] will remain the same." Yes, you can have your opinions. Even the demons know the Scriptures well, but they don't use the Word for a good purpose.

Sometimes Christians can be fooled into thinking that just becuase they choose to look at Scripture with a narrow mind (neglecting the whole Word of God), they have a corner on interpretation. Or just because they hear a convincing charismatic leader spout off about what God really means, they can be assured they "know" the Word. Interpretation is not open to "opinion." Rightly discerning the Word comes from an honest and careful study of God's Word.

A simple yes or no just as the Bible commands will suffice..Thanks

I would be willing to put my very life on this statement concerning Rev. Rod: He is protective of DG because he, himself has been with some women!

I am willing to bet all of you that our boy Rev. Boy has been "busy" himself with the ladies! You can say I am judging, etc. The only people who talk like Rod are those who are guilty like DG and Rod!

Lastly, the mere fact that DG has been installed says more about that church than it does DG! I think I just said something!

Black people are amazing in terms of what we will put up with all in the name of "love".

Pastor Rod has not been protective of DG. DG doesn't need protecting, so he behaves like he doesn't.

He has not been offically installed, just preaching.

He is in a downward spiral due to unconfessed sins. Even Hank can't help him now.

If he's having all of these difficulties with finances, how can he pay other than people who are his followers, collect moeny to help him stay afloat?

This may very well be headed for a trial, unfortunate for DG it will expose everything! Things his wife don't know yet.

Your accusations against Pastor Rod show you to be clueless. First: you don't know him, second: you obviously don't know what he's said or what he stands for regarding this issue. Finally, your assertion about DG being installed is not true. In fact, your entire post is a waste of time to read, or respond to.

Evidently, you have misunderstood Rev Rod statement.....you owe him an apology........

Pastor Rod:

If you are a black baptist preacher, and I trust that you are, you have had enounters with women! Pure and simple.

You might be able to fool folks on this blog, but I was born and raised in the B.B. C., and in fact, I am from the great State of Florida, in Tampa, and I can tell you that if you have been around, YOU have had an encounter with a woman!

So, I am willing to put my life on that statement! Name me one Black Baptist Pastor in J'Ville that has not had some kind of "thing" with a womanor women.

"WE" all know its true! DG was getting busy at Shiloh because that is the climate that most Black churches have! Don't even dare try to tell me it isn't that way as I have been black for nearly 50 years!

Give me a name of a black preacher/pastor in J'ville right now, and I can tell you something about him!

An example would be Rudy Mckissic. There is no doubt that Rudy, Jr. is probably GAY! Or at least Bi-Sexual! Pure and simple.

I can assure Mrs. Rod that she doesn't know everything about her man! No one knows "everything" about a person as there is a level of mystery around every human being!

Anonymous said...

Anon what mystery surrounds you my friend. You seem to know alot about dishonest ministers. Are you a former minister who was caught up in sexual immorally? By your rational the Apostle Paul being a man must have been sexually immoral!!

Anonymous said...

To 12/13, Anon 11:42: When someone makes a false accusation against another, often times it's because the accuser is guilty of the same thing.

I have also noted your faulty logic and assumption that if a preacher is black he is guilty of sexual misconduct. Your logic is by its very nature false because you made a universal statement (which is always false), and therefore your accusation must be false as well.

While you will not come forward with your name (because you're probably also a coward), there are two things we know about you: (1) you may very well be guilty of sexual impropriety; and (2) you're not very logical. From what we know of you, there is no reason anyone would have to listen to you.

Pastor Rod is one who truly meets the biblical standards of a legitimate pastor; and from all I have witnessed of him, the Spirit of the Lord is with him.

Thank you, Pastor Rod, for your help to all the victims, and Shiloh congregation members looking for answers, trying to find meaning after what happened with DG. God bless you.

To be put out of a church by a sinful pastor and some of his member when you are living all that you know to be Holy is one of the worst things that can happen to a person. Thank God for all those who are able to hold onto God's unchanging hands. It is a TERRIBLE hurt that never goes away. Be Blessed to all who continue to stay with God, and endure the hurt. Because Joy comes in the morning. The Church has to be in us.

To Pastor Rod & Supporters:

First, I did not say that you were "currently" having an affair with another woman. I clearly said that "you have had an encounter with a woman or women" before in your role as a Black minister."

I am well aware and smart enough to know that not every "Black Preacher" is dirty or is a crook. I am clear on that issue.

However, that being said, I know without a doubt that the "climate" in the vast majority of Black churches, especially "traditional" Black Baptist Churches lend themselves to the kind of impropriety and ministerial misconduct that we're talking about.

Therefore, while it is possible that Pastor Rod has not literally laid down with a member of his congregation or, with other women not of his congregation, I have absolutely NO DOUBT that he has had an "encounter" with at least one woman other than his wife!

You can take that to the Bank and cash the check, and I promise that it will not bounce!

Now, for further clarity, maybe the encounter turned out with Rod saying "no" to the woman or women, or maybe he had to pray and cry out to God to be able to resist the temptation, but an "encounter" he has had in the Black church!

There are people on this blog who knows that I speak nothing but the truth on this matter. Many of you who are making comments have had your "encounters", and some, unfortunately, have not faired very well.

If you believe that there is truth in what I am saying, then have the courage to say it on this blog as there are people who think that I am being irrational.

Anonymous said...

Anon again by your own logic then every huuman being has had an encounter including YOU. But according to your previous blogs you accused me of being just another black minister who is sleeping with multiple women! The Bible states that "there is no temptation but is common to man"[1Cor.10:13],so everybody including you are always being tempted by Satan to sin. But as James stated we are to submit ourselves to God and then resist the Devil and he will flee"[Jam.4:7]no submission to God,no retreat by Satan. Again you are incorrect in your assumption that I've had what you refer to as encounters since I've been in the ministry(8yrs now). There has not been one woman who has approached me with any type of improprieties nor have I approached any women. The reason for this I believe is that I love the Lord and I don't preach this ear tickling, water down foolishness that many of these preachers preach. I as well as our members are held accountable for how we live in order to not bring shame and reproach to the Name of Christ. I as the Apostle Paul wrote "Have not already attained or are already perfect; But I press on that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of me"[Phil 3:12]. My question to you again is are you a former or current minister who was caught up in sexual impropieties and this is the reason that you accuse all ministers of being immoral?

Here we go!!! The person trying to trash Pastor Rod is attempting to distract attention from what this blog is about!

Pastor Rod, keep preaching the truth. Your wife has your back like I have my husbands. We are prayerful and supportive. My husband is a Pastor and I cover him in prayer and I'm very supportive of him. We have a lot of good pastors in this world and not all of them are out pimping!

Correction to the now angry poster trying to attack Pastor Rod. Not all black preachers are pimping and sleeping around. You can find that in all races if you wanted to. The fact remains, no matter what race you are.... Are you truly living for God? Especially if you are a pastor instructing others on how to live for God. Enough with the distractions. Let's not take the focus off of watching out for our children and exposing folks who are messing over them.

Pastor Rod is back.... Wonderful.

Anon 3:34pm
Thank you for the encouraging words to my husband (pastor Rod) and I. I know that there are other good preachers who are true to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Word of God. I also believe that this anonymous blogger who is attacking my hubby is being used by Satan to distract us from the real issue as well; which is Darrell Gilyard's despicable doings regarding the children and women he has taken advantage of. The blogger also doesn't have the courage to annouce who he/she is. What a pity.

I am certain of this one thing: that my husband is an awesome MAN of God who is so loving and caring of not only me and his family, but the flock of God as well. Praise the Lord for all of the TRUE pastors who will take a stand against those who misuse their positions to fulfill their evil desires.

Dear Pastor Rod:

Again, where in my previous posts that I declared that "ALL Black Preachers" are whores? Find it and relate it to the people on this blog.

Themere fact that you're still "young in the Lord" in terms of being a pastor, perhaps you are still raw as it relates to having to deal with women in the church.

however, as the people of old have said, "Keep on Living". Your naivety clearly shows when you boast about how much you "Love the Lord".

Well, let's see: do you love the Lord any more than David did? What about Peter, who boasted of his loyalty to Christ? Do you love the Lord any more than Peter?

The answer to all of the above is a resounding NO! Also, please understand I am not wishing that PAstor Rod should fall. If you have stood in your short 8 years, then I applaud you and the determination you say you have.

However, let me be clear once again: in time, you will have an "enounter" with a very attractive, seductive, and persistent woman or women!

It doesn't matter how hard you preach against sin, temptation will ALWAYS be a factor. To finally answer your question: No, I am NOT a pastor who has fallen into sexual sin! I am a person who has been Black all my life and have dealt with the Black church all my life

and I know the climate and atmosphere of most Black churches, small or large, and I know that the Black preacher, unlike the White preacher, does not have the kind of accountability that they ought to have.

So, I stand by my previous contention, and that is, most Black ministers have had an "encounter" with a woman or with women, many of whom have succumbed to the temptation, and some, by the grace of God have been able to resist such encounters! I think I just said something!

Anonymous said...

Anon thanks for your candid comments even though your thoughts are completely erratic. Oh by the way I didn't grow up in the Church so I don't know how they ran them. Also may be I am naive to expect a Pastor and anyone professing Christianity to live honorably for Christ[Rom 12:1-2];.."SO BE IT" that's how I'm going to believe because thats what the Bible commands. Anon my mentor an spiritual father and pattern for my life,Church and ministry is a Pastor by the name of Dr.John MacAuthur Jr.;Ever heard of him? You said I'm "raw in dealing with woman"; I've been saved 14 yrs and I've been black 54 yrs and I know the streets and women, and the streets offered and offers me nothing. Finally for you to say I'm naive for saying that I love the Lord shows your immaturity and lack of knowledge concerning the relevance of Scripture and I don't care how old and black you are!!! The Bible commands that I Love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength(Mark 12:30)and that's what every TRUE believer should STRIVE FOR. Jesus asked Peter 3 times "DO YOU LOVE ME" in which Peter responded "LORD YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU(John 21:17). My question to you Anon is DO YOU LOVE THE LORD? I will no longer respond to your blogs unless you distort the Scriptures; I wish you the best my brother!

Anonymous said...

Rod:

I think you're the one with the erratic behavior! This especially true when it comes to your memory lasp. first, I did not call you naive for loving the Lord! I said that if you think that loving the Lord is your only safe guard for resisting temptation, then you're mistaken!

I stand by that! David, Peter, Moses, and the rest, loved the Lord, yet they stumbled and fell in various ways, including sexually where David is concerned.

Stop deliberately misleading people by quoting me inaccurately. Yes, I know MacArthur really well!

In fact, even MacArthur had an encouter with a woman by his own admission. A woman came up to him, dressed very provocatively, offered him an expensive watch and soliticed him. Of course, he said no!

Chuck Swindoll had an enounter with two women while speaking at a conference, while he was on the elevator. He too, said no!

I believe if these two well know men have had encounters, then surely Pastor Rod will have his share if he hasn't already!

If I were you, I wouldn't tell anyone that you were 54!

Anonymous said...

To anon 10:26 p.m.

And if I were you I wouldn't tell anyone ANYTHING! It's apparent that you are very ignorant. Just because great men of scripture have had encounters with women and great bible teachers of today as well, does not necessarily mean that ALL men will have the same. We all have flaws and areas of weakness. Perhaps Satan may use other means to tempt pastor Rod. However, you should keep the focus of this blog on Darrell Gilyard and not your supposedly brilliant theology.

You should gladly encourage and pray for those who are holding true to the faith rather than point out a certain encounter that YOU have presumed that they will surely have.

I sense a hint of jealousy of pastor Rod and others like him from you. Just what is your problem? You should exam yourself just as we all should do, rather than looking to point out a certain encounter that YOU think will surely happen.

Lastly, it appears that you think more of yourself than you should.
Here's a newsflash: "Look in the mirror of the Word of God,"
there you shall find the standard.
Now how do you look?!

Anonymous said...

Once again, you can find wrong doing in all denominations and races if you look hard enough.

To Pastor Rod. You have enough positive responses to your posts to ignore the individual(s) that are trying to take the focus off of this blog.

The bottom line is that you have pastors of all races and denominations trying to be the best that they can for God, their churches, and families.

To the Pastor Rod trasher... Your post are no longer worth responding to because it is SOOOOOOO obvious that you are here to be a distraction.

Pastor Rod, you don't need to respond to this person any longer... They are not worth it. Especially when the want to categorize all Black preachers... Give me a break. How offensive!!!

Back to the purpose of this blog.... Don't mess over children, treat your wife with respect, and don't bring shame on the house of God. Abuse needs to stop!

Anonymous said...

Don't molest our children. I know how it goes and it is sad. My ex husband was release from prison for rape. Because I did not want him anymore he beat me up. In the process I lost my voice for some reason and could not stop my mouth from twisting back and forth. While walking the streets alone and scared I thought about this preacher. He prayed along with me and my mouth was straightned and I was able to talk again that same night. I was greatful and scared. The emergency room was no help. I was very greatful to this preacher and alone in New York city. He kept making sexual advances to me. Because I was healed while he was praying for me I trusted him. When the preacher went to the school to see my son the children said there is a 100 year old man out there that looks like you. I did not want that ole man in my life, but because of sin he played a part in my life. Sin brings shame. Bless ALL of the Holy men of God. Keep whoremonger and child molester out of the pulpit. I am living a saved life now.

Suicide ran 4 to 5 generations in the Hires family. It is a shame to lose such a good man! How does God feel about suicide? What do I think if the preachers tell untruths about what happened in the pulpit and send him to heaven with a eulogy? Someone please help me with a scriptural basis.sevolda

I know that you can't be very spiritually mature if you were willing to sit under the likes of DG. Now that he has been revealed even more as to who he really is, now you guys want to denigrate him and lash out.

Why were'nt you lashing out when he was sleeping with the Deacons wives? why did you not cry aloud when the evidence was a thick as the clouds that he was abusing underage young girls?

What stop you from exposing him when women after women begin to tell of their "enounter" with the DG one?

So now we're suppose to believe that all of you are all of a sudden mature and God fearing people??? Please give me one big break! What a complete and absolute joke!

The girls were 14 & 15 that Gilyard is cahrged with. He has a small bond b/c even after years of sexual misconduct NO ONE until now did anything about it legally. So this places Gilyard as a firt time offender and he WAS a pillar of the community. Had he had a small church and worked at McDonald's for a living he would have still been in jail awaiting trial. it seems the upper class have its benefits. Not sure how wealthy he is now since he can't pay Association dues to Queen Harbor and is currently being sued for it. Also being sued for over $83,000 in AMEX credit card debt, so how can he pay Hank Coxe? If I were Coxe, I'd try to get this case CLOSED as soon as possible. I'm sure the victims and the church are ready to bring this case to a close and move on.

After reading these comments, I would have to agree that Rev. Rod isn't as innocent as many of you seem to think. No, he is not as pure as he and others would lead you to believe. I know for sure.

Say what you mean C. Richardson. But I tell you...you better know what you're talking about. You are making false accusations against a TRUE man of God and you better stand ready to fight against GOD. I know that Pastor Rod, who doesn't even like to be called "Rev." is as pure as we think. I know this for sure. This is nothing more than an attack from Satan! Pastor Rod continue not responding. This blog is about someone we know is rotten to the core, "Darrell Gilyard." Be careful Richardson (if that is even who you are).

Proverbs 6:16-19
These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Anonymous said...

Richardson...You know not what you do AND are saying... you are just another mixed up "hopefully" brother.

No further response is necessary.
Sad sad sad, that Gilyard STILL has supporters.

Anonymous said...

Richardson, why are you attacking Pastor Rod? He isn't the one messing with children. Are you a pervert or something?

Anonymous said...

C. Richardson might be Gilyard!

Yes he has supporters but God has the last say. Being around the law as long as I have...Gilyard best plea to do some jail time on his own or he will spend more time with unwanted freinds behind bars than he wants to if he leaves it to a jury. At least he can do his time get out and start over with his life.

To all of You:

Let me be clear, it is not my intenttion to misrepresent Rev. Rod or even DG, what I am simply conveying is that no human being is without flaws, including ME!

Let me ask all of you, and please be honest in your reply: were we not surprised at the fall of a man who appeared to be holy and devout who's name is Jimmy Swaggert?

I don't doub that Rev. Rod is perhaps sincere and has a genuine desire to walk with the Lord, but be assured he is NOT impeccable!

Would the people of New Life have believed that their very prominent Pastor, Ted Haggard had a problem with drugs and homosexuality just a few short years ago? I strongly think not as many of them has declared the same.

My ONLY point is: Let's stop putting people whom we love on a pedastal and calim what they will not do.

I have two children and have had to learn that inspite of my being a model for them in righteous living, they have shown me a thing or two about their sense of independence and choices they've made in life.

Based on how they were loved, cared for, provided for, and shown the way, you could have NEVER made me believe what decisions they have made.

The Lord taught me through my own children: "Stop claiming to know your children; I am the ONLY one who knows the human heart!"

Which leads to the passage in Jeremiah: "The Heart is Deceitful and despertly Wicked, Who can Know It?" (Jeremiah 17:9)

Only God knows the human heart and its depravity; so please stop saying what a Pastor will and will not do!

Anon 12:31 - "Flaws" and wickedness/sexual immorality are two different things. But since you have a hard time distinguishing between them, and since you admitted that you have flaws...all you have accomplished is admit that you are wicked.

I have seen the wicked go after innocent supporters of victims of sexual abuse many times. You don't surprise me at all.

Pastor Rod may be human, but he is also "above reproach" from all credible accounts. Further, his conduct during this entire DG mess has been righteous.

That there are supporters of DG is not surprising. Mire and muck tends to stick together.

The best we can do is just not respond. The Lord protects the righteous, and will have the last say in all of this. And when that happens, the innocent will offer our praise to Him.

New information following a Monday morning court hearing regarding the former pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church.

A new prosecutor will likely take over the State’s case against Darrell Gilyard.

Assistant State Attorney Julie Schlax is currently assigned.

State Attorney-Elect, Angela Corey, announced in September that she would not re-appoint several assistant state attorneys to her office. Schlax was included in that list.

Corey’s term begins January 1, 2009.

Gilyard is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to two teenagers while presiding at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church. He’s also accused of inappropriately touching one of the teens. He stepped down from his post, and was later arrested.

Gilyard faces two counts Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, and one count Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.

The next court hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 21st.

Hank Coxe endorsed Jay Plotkin! Also endorsed Bill White for Public Defender and is best buddies with Harry Shorstein! I wonder how Miss Corey will play this legal game of chess? Can she look past Hank Coxe's past? Will the hatchet be buried in forgetfulness or in Gilyard's back? This case is the perfect litmus test for Corey's alliances and integrity. Can she be bought? Can Coxe checkmate the Queen of mean? As the world turns, so are the days of our lives!

To "Anon 12:31":

News flash: According to the Jeremiah 17:9, you're as wicked as anyone else! Just in case you don't know what that Scripture says, I will quote it for you:

"The Heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9)

So, that includes you too! My best guess is that DG will walk! Why? Because good ole Hank will pull the charm string and everything will disappear.

Please remember that these Lawyers are friends outside of the Court room, and they even play golf together, and most certainly call each other by their first names.

In the 21st Century, I put nothing past what the Courts will do to obvious offenders. The mere fact that DG was popular once says that there is a lot of compassion given towards his plight even more than his victims!

I certainly hope that for the sake of these young girls that DG will be brought to justice.

Good Evening,

C. Richardson

Unfortunately, we don't know how many of us who are posting that are black. However, if a large majority are. I see where a white chick, Tiffany (who could have been a victim, but was not!), as allowed our people to bash one of our own as well as each other. Stop allowing white people to assist in bringing the black people down to a lower level.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8:35am 12/28/08..Let me get this right...Are you telling me that we should overlook what Darrell did because he is black?

Anonymous said...

Anon 12/28/08, 8:35 a.m. - This is not a color issue...it is a clergy sexual abuse issue. Tiffany wasn't the only victim; there were well over 100 victims: black and white, adults and children.

Besides there were plenty of white and black preachers who backed Darrell up throughout his illustrious and lucrative career.

Again, it is a clergy sexual abuse issue. Open your eyes.

Anonymous said...

Sexual abuse is not a black or white issue. We need more concerned people of ALL races standing up against sexual abuse, especially in the pulpit. KEEP IT GOING TIFFANY!

Anonymous said...

Response to December 28, 2008 8:35 AM

This is just another attempt to take the focus off of this blog. It is not about race. The nerve of you to even refer to Tiffany as "white chick"... Keep at it Tiffany... you are doing the right thing. Keep at it Pastor Rod... You continue to present truth. This poster is really off base! Especially to try and focus on race.

Anonymous said...

No, I am not trying to say that we should overlook what Darrell did because he was black. I am saying that we as black people are caught up in another scam to bring each other down (by a "white chick" who was not a victim). What we post will not have any impact on Darrell's conviction or sentencing in court. So what is the point in bashing him. Also, Pastor Rod I have seen that you have received your share of being bashed yourself.

I'm glad that you posted your church information. I will be sure not to attend there, especially under your teaching.

Please explain what is your definition of a victim. From my understanding D.G. have sexual relations with women (other than this present case). Those women chose to sleep with him. I am not convinced that being a pastor lead these so called vulnerable women to him. Possibly they were interested in his money. There was one woman who posted that she received money from him. Now, she feels victimized, after she slept with him for several years. Yeah right! From my understanding, in Texas he was involved with women and not children.

I understand that this present case involves children, in which this is sickening for him or any one else to be in this situation.

Anonymous said...

Anon 12-29, 4:41 p.m. - What makes the women (and children) victims is the fact that DG was in a much more powerful position than they. He abused his power as a member of the clergy to engage in sexual activity outside his marriage.

If DG were a pastor "above reproach," then even if women (and/or children) made advances toward him, he would have brushed their advances aside, and directed them to more godly activities, or saw to it they got professional help--out of agape love and concern for them.

But DG apparently didn't do his fiduciary duty as a pastor. From many victims' accounts, he took advantage of the women involved. That's what makes them victims.

What's worse, the deacons apparently were aware of DG's doings. At least one has admitted on this blogsite that in his estimation the women and children were all victims of DG. At least some of the deacons were in on what DG was doing, and did nothing about it for whatever their reasons. That, too, makes the women and children victims.

In my mind, both the pastor and the church were at fault! There are probably more whorish women in Shiloh than there are even whorish men! Just admit it. The Deacons wives seem to be the primary whorish women seeing as they were the ones sleeping with DG!

Who cares what they did with the rest of the staff. This is not a gossip column! It's used to get DG to stop his sinful ways, perhaps repent and to make others aware of his predatory nature.

Whose to say that D.G. has not repented? Does he have to repent to you or to God? And if he does repent to you will you be able to forgive him?

Anonymous said...

We have jailhouse and prisons for a reason....REMEMBER!

Anonymous said...

To anon Jan 2,7:37p.m.
YES! DG needs to repent publicly. This thing that he has done is known throughout the U.S. Therefore he needs to make a public confession. This will help make him accountable (if it's true repentance-he should do it this way), then he has to be watched for a season). There would have to be a pattern of change or how will one know that he has repented?
GOD has pulled the covers back on his secret, atrocious sin and DARRELL GILYARD now stands naked before all mankind to see, Luke 12:2-3. God is so serious about SIN in all our lives. Especially those who are in the position of a preacher/teacher or any other authoritative position should beware. Leaders are held more accountable by God and will be judged more severely [James 3:1]. So yes, God will forgive him when or if he repents. God is merciful in that He doesn't give any of us what we deserve and yet allows us to still live. He's longsuffering and does not desire that any should perish but come to repentance [2 Peter 3:9]. Therefore, I pray that DG will make a public acknowledgement of his sin, that he may be accepted into to family of God.

Finally, if I love God (and I do), then I am to be as my Father...forgiving.

Anonymous said...

From anon 9:55 a.m.
Also DG has broken man's God ordained law and now has to suffer the consiquences of his sin.

Because he refused to live a life above reproach and he had no regard for the law of the land, he has chosen to answer to both God and man for all that he has done.So be it as it may.

Anonymous said...

Okay, we know that DG should repent, but what about the promiscuous adult women who voluntarily slept with him over and over and over again? Should they have to "publicly" confess and repent too? I would think so!

Anon 2:46 Jan 6

Anon: 7:33 pm Jan 6,

Yes, the women should have to repent publicly too! This is not a distraction from DG, this is a simple truth that needs to be applied.

Who holds women 40 and older who were willing to sleep with their so-called "Spiritual Leader?" Sombody needs to call them on the carpet as well.

I can assure you that God will even if we do not! So, stop trying to pretend that you're some spiritual giant when in reality, you're nothing more than a "Babe" in Christ!

Anonymous said...

I have never had a close encounter with DG, other than passing by him or listening to him preach from a distance.

I am strongly against anyone hurting or molesting a child. I never understood why a man want a 2 year old and/or older child. Some acts as though you came into this world as a child just to satisfy a perverse nature of man. It must stop and stop accepting/denying/justifying such behavior of predator (regardless who they are). A victim is betray as the guilty to justify the predator is ridicules. What can a child do for adult? Nothing, but give a wholesome and healthy joy. We must protect our children and give them a fair chance for a healthy life. It's our duty as parents and adults.

I think people do not understand how this damage can have a lasting effect.

I thank God, that he is not a respect of person. No one is above God, no one!

Should a predator keep preying on children? God forbid not!!!! We must stand unswervingly.

No response. I mean it.

I am sick of people saying and pulpit preaching about we all have sinned. My God, yes we all have but we have laws of the land and some things are AGAINST the law. NO one is trying to kick DG while he's down, he's doing a good job of that on his own. He appears to be acting like Paroah, although he KNOWS better, but his arrogance and refusal to admit he was wrong will not work for his future. WE need to pray for him and the entire legal system. If we take on that attiude of "All have sinned" and hint that he should go unpunished then we have to open all the jails and prison doors for those who are saved. After all let God deal with them, right? WRONG!

Anonymous said...

Anon: Jan 10, 9:41 pm

You don't have to respond as I don't need a response from anyone to validate my point. The truth stands whether you or anyone chooses to respond.

I don't believe 40 year old women and older in this situation can make the claim of being "victims" as they pursued DG even more so than he pursued them!

Now if you were one of the unfortunate ones, then perhaps you need to take responsibility and repent. That's all that is needed to be said.

Have a Great Day!

Anonymous said...

Anon 01/11/09, 8:57,
You are outright dispecting GOD. You stated, "Let God deal with them, right? Wrong!" is totally insane. You need to honor the Lord thy GOD and respect HIS power. My GOD will not only deal with DG but all of us and the choices we make in life. HE will also make provisions for the Court of Law to handle this situation. GOD sees all, hears all, and knows all. So my response to you, is "RIGHT, let GOD deal with them."

Anonymous said...

Oops, my "dispecting" should actually be "disrespecting". However, I clearly made my point.
