Humility Comes Before Honor

Things are beginning to heat up for the Gilyard trial. There may be another delay or two, but we are closer now. Gilyard still thinks he can get off on a lesser charge, I speculate that he still does not see the full picture of what he has done. However, the State, Judge Weatherby and the Lord will decide on the gravity of his sins against his victims and the earthly price he will pay.
On a better note, please read the scriptures below, as they are reminders of how things should be amongst us and also of the wonders of the Savior that we serve.

Bless you all, Happy Easter!!!
"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
who, being in very nature of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled Himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phillipians 2:1-11 NIV

"The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor."
Proverbs 15:33 NIV

A note for those of you looking for a post referring to the current news article regarding this blog and the JSO/First Baptist Church investigation:

I have much I would like to say, however out of respect for my parents and many friends that are still active members of FBC, I am choosing to reman quiet in the blog following this statement. Know I will read any comments, and appreciate your concerns. However, you can all read and discern for yourselves what has occured and the violation of my privacy, which is also your privacy here.
I have no answers, as I have not been given anything concrete to date. Please know that I am pursuing answers and will not ignore this injustice, for all of our sakes.
Thank the good Lord that we live in America, the land of the free. I greatly appreciate my freedom that has been bought at a high price, just as my salvation has also been. If we stand by and do nothing while our freedoms and our voices are silenced, then shame on us. This does not mean we are not accountable for our own actions, but this was unwarranted and a shame.
As the Lord said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do."

...and the wisdom to know the difference!

What was that anonymous apology on Sunday for?

Perhaps the JSO & SAO is needed to search out who was Mac apologizing to, and of course sponsored with my taxpayer dime to boot!

Detective Blount violated the public trust, broke the church-state separation, AND abused the subpoena process--with the full support of the sheriff. This has excellent potential for a lawsuit against the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

http://jacksonville.com/news/metro/2009-04-08/story/unmasked_blogger_blames_first_baptist_sheriffs_office?p=1

Blount said he had no idea why Hinson looked into two other blogs, tiffanycroft.blogspot.com and newbbcopenforum.blogspot.com.

Mackesy would say only that Hinson was obligated to look at those blogs if he felt it could help the initial investigation.

Jacksonville resident Tiffany Croft said the aim of her blog is to be an online source of information about the accusations against the Rev. Darrell Gilyard, the former Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church pastor accused of sexual misconduct. Gilyard regularly preached at First Baptist in the early 1990s.

Croft said she also plans to file a complaint against Hinson demanding to know why her blog — which has never been anonymous — was the target of a subpoena to Google.

But, did Hinson really look into this on his own is my question? Maybe someone gave him no choice? Maybe he really didn't want to but power players gave him no choice?

Maybe, just sayin'

Can we get back to what this particular blog is for...keeping up with pastor Gilyard???
Trial coming up next month. No doubt that he will get some time and meet some new friends up the road. He should head the Prison Ministry if he ever repents. He may even do his own sermons. Just a thought. Still prayaing for him and all fo his victims past, present and future. He is in denial so its going to take some doing for him to repent.

"We don't have lawyers good enough [to handle the case] in the Office of General Counsel. We'd have to hire Hank Coxe, and that would cost a fortune."
-Hon. Mayor John Peyton, speaking at a Rotary Club of Jax meeting, as quoted by the Jax Financial News Daily Record.

Peyton's apparent point was that the General Counsel's Office wouldn't be up to the challenge if the city had to defend itself against a lawsuit from Waste Management over the Trail Ridge Landfill.

"From among people like these are those who worm their way into houses and capture weak women....who are alwasy learning and nevber able to come to a full knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people oppose the truth, they are persons with corrupted minds, rejects when it comes to the faith" Second Letter of Paul to Timothy written from a prison. If Gilyard wants a lesser charge..he still does not get it.
